Winter

Grindelwald, your ski resort with century old tradition offers many things for winter and snow friends.

Skiing
On Grindelwald's skiing slopes one can encounter any level of difficulty. There are three ski regions which are nearby, First, Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen and Mürren Schilthorn which come all together to roughly 215 km of skiing slopes. All tickets can be purchased at the reception.

Grindelwald-First
This skiing region is the most sunny one and offers around 60 km of well prepared slopes and the unbeatable panorama of the bernese alps, as well as the "White Elements" snow park with kickers rails, boxes and a half pipe. Another big plus is the proximity to our hotel, the cable car station is just 200m away and the descent slope Grindel takes you almost to the hotel.

Kleine Scheidegg-Männlichen
Over 110 kilometres of slopes await you in this region which also is the stage for the best skiers in the world when the world famous Lauberhorn races take place. Marvellousviews on to the Grindelwald valley and the three famous mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. You can easily access the region with the WAB rack railway from Grindelwald station or by cablecar from Grindelwald Grund. The Ski bus departs in front of the hotel around every 10 minutes to the station as well as Grindelwald-Grund.

Sledging
Grindelwald is the sledging paradise per se and offers even a sledging only area, Bussalp. Rent an original Velogemel (a cross between a bike and a sled) and sled down the world's longest sledging trail from the Faulhorn 2681 m down to Grindelwald. If the days are too short for you, there are also night sledging options at night, the illuminated route from Alpiglen to Brandegg or only illuminated by the moon and the stars from Bussalp to Grindelwald.
